Williams’s work rides a shifting balance between irreverent irony and playful satire, relishing in details within a rich visual experience.
Originally from Michigan, this Portland OR based artist earned his B.A from The College Of Santa Fe, NM in 2003. Although predominantly a drawer and painter, Williams has explored various mediums, including writing, music, film and performance. His drawings and paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Portland, such as The Sequential Art Gallery and included in publications, such as the Willamette Week. His original comic books were showcased at Powell’s City of Books and various Multnomah County Libraries. Williams’s animated short films have won awards at local film festivals and have been screened at the Clinton Street Theater, the Curious Comedy Theater and the NW Film Center.
Williams wrote, illustrated and published his first graphic novel, “Buffer Zone” (see Books) in 2023 and received a 5 star review and an award from Literary Titan. Most recently he’s created series of digital paintings as part of an exhibit titled, “HYPERFOCUS”, aiming to create an immersive and surreal world. He’s currently writing and illustrating an original fan-fiction graphic novel, taking place before the events in the film “A Nightmare On Elm St” (see Books: Springwood 1972).
